I am loving every page of this book. The recipes are real life things I will actually try and the directions are so simple. I was hesitant to make the investment when there is so much free info online. But this is the best I have seen yet and organized/presented beautifully. I ordered this book as a gift for my Mom. It arrived really quickly! I was able to look at some of it myself and find was impressed by the information that will help me be successful with sourdough. I have read this from the very first page all the way up to the second recipe so far (first 118 pages). I love the detailed information on sourdough tools, ingredients, how sourdough works, maintaining your sourdough, etc. Very thorough book and easy to follow. Beautiful photos as well. Amazing walk through of techniques and recipes even a total sourdough beginner can dive in. I’ve been a baker and capable home cook for years but have never dedicated the time to learn how to make sourdough.
I got an established starter from a local baker this week and have made tortillas, pasta, no-knead sourdough, English muffins and a Dutch baby pancake. Not bad for a first week!
Best of all, my 3 and 5 year old love to help in the kitchen and have asked for seconds of each recipe. My husband isn’t the biggest sourdough fan but he’s coming around. The pasta and tortillas were a huge hit. I don’t think we’ll ever actually enjoy sad store bought tortillas or boxed pasta now that we’ve had the real deal. And so much healthier to boot.
After years of watching Lisa on YouTube I’m so glad I finally bought the book and got started experimenting with sourdough!

I am new to sourdough, and I follow Lisa on her YouTube channel. I have tried several of her recipes just from her YouTube Channel. When I discovered she had written a book I bought it. I’m so glad I did. It has delicious recipes with step by step instructions. I love this book! Worth every penny. I actually highlight things, and write notes for myself in the margins. It’s a great book to give to a newly married woman, a beginning baker, or someone who wants to begin eating healthier! This book is a keeper and you’ll use it daily. I highly recommend it!

Absolutely worth having if you maintain sourdough starter or are interested in getting into this world! Simple and clear instructions and verrryyy tasty! I pre-purchased and once the book was released I got it only a few days after. Since then I’ve made around 5-10 of the recipes and they were all super delicious! I would say I’m not over experienced when it comes to sourdough. I’ve only been doing it for a few months. I do like to cook and bake though and I found this book very helpful and my husband is loving his new daily sourdough meals/treats 🙂 thank you to everyone involved in the creation and distribution of this book! Its extremely appreciated. I can’t recommend it enough!

I’m new to sourdough, so after watching some of Lisa’s YouTube videos, I decided to give it a try. I ordered her cookbook and have tried the French bread recipe, pancakes, and cinnamon rolls. I’m still working on mastering the French bread, but the other recipes turned out amazing. I greatly appreciate her attention to detail and providing answers to questions for absolute beginners like myself. She goes into great detail on tools and process, which really help to make sourdough so much more accessible. The one critique I have of the book is more about the overall organization. I wish the recipes and page numbers were listed in the table of contents.

A very thorough book. I am looking forward to finally be able to master sourdough. I love sourdough bread so I am looking forward to trying the different recipes once I get my sourdough starter. I wasn’t able to start my started yet because of my schedule, but looking forward to when I can. I love how everything is explained. Yes there are a few references that say XX instead of the page number, but not a big deal. The pictures are great.

I was expecting just a regular recipe book, but this book also comes with a huge section devoted to teaching you how to make, maintain and use a sourdough starter. I didn’t know I needed that, but I did, and I love having all of that information in one place that I can read in a sequential order rather than piecing it together through a lot of videos and online articles. However, as I’m reading, I’m mentally supplementing the written info with videos I have seen of the process. I’m not sure how easy it would be for someone brand new to sourdough to follow the information without having watched any videos. I also wish an index page had been included that listed all of the recipes included in the book, for a faster reference. Other than that, I love this book and have made a couple recipes from it already.

There are a few page number references near the beginning of the book that say “XX” rather than the page number, but that is easy to overlook because it’s an excellent book. I read through it right away. I love the abundance of beautiful pictures. I love that it’s hard-back, and the size of the book is ideal on the bookshelf. It’s easy to read, very informative and encouraging. I am on day four of my starter and can’t wait to make every recipe. I hope Lisa makes a second book with even more recipes, especially unique, out-of-the box recipes (and pictures of every one of them!).

My go-to book for all things sourdough. I started following Farmhouse on Boone when the instructions that came with my big brand name sourdough starter was totally confusing (and I’m a Ph.D. in science). Lisa made it SO easy. I’ve been waiting for this book to start my sourdough journey. I knew Lisa was the one I wanted to learn from, and I’m so glad to have this all-encompassing resource that I can refer to in a print format. It’s a beast of a book with beautiful photography – worth every penny.

Lisa is a wonderful instructor and very thorough. Easy to follow instructions and a book you will display as you can use it daily. I understand there are profits to be made for such hard work, I just wish cost was not so prohibitive to some.

I got my book and immediately got out my starter and mad 5 recipes! I usually just look online for recipes but to have them all at my fingertips and a hard copy (plus it’s beautifully done) and have ALL the extra tips and tricks is amazing !

Absolutely beautiful hardcover sourdough cookbook. I have tried sourdough in the past without success. I have my new starter from Lisa’s book beginning to bubble on my counter as I type. I’m encouraged and motivated this time around because of Lisa’s kind instruction and voice that can be heard through the pages of the book. I have noticed two pages with x’s in place of page numbers in the first few pages. Hopefully with subsequent prints those can be replaced with actual page numbers. The photos are gorgeous and the simple, steady life that is captured makes me want to recreate that in some small way in my own city home.

I love this book. Lisa has a great way of explaining all of the ins and outs of sourdough and how to adapt any recipe. Very helpful information along with some great recipes. My first loaves of Rosemary garlic bread is about to come out of the oven and smells are mouthwatering. It’s going to be tough to wait till it cools!

This book is amazing. I forgot I pre-ordered it, so it was a pleasant surprise when it arrived. I love that every recipe has a picture and the book itself is going to hold up in kitchens for generations to come. This book is wonderful. First of all, gorgeous pictures, but the recipes are very easily followed. I learned Sourdough making from watching Lisa’s videos and am a YouTube follower of hers as well as her Instagram. I knew I had to order this book as soon as preorders were announced. My granddaughter just got married and is wanting to start sourdough making so I will be giving her part of my starter and this book for a present. Thank you Lisa! Well done!

I have always printed all of Lisa’s recipes and kept them in a (now massive) folder! But this is so nice to have them all in one place! And so many great added facts! I use it three to four times a week!

This book covers equipment needed and why, explains the different grains and clearly written. I was pleased that she told how to convert a yeast bread recipe to a sour dough recipe.

I couldn’t wait for this book to arrive in hard copy form!! I don’t purchase e books … only have my phone and they are a pain..I appreciate Lisa s detailed explanations and instructions.. Lisa is a sourdough queen! I waited and waited and I watch her vlogs, read her recipes, etc. I bought this book, and it is so beautiful and made me even more excited to get started on my sourdough adventures! The recipes are explained so well, and there are beautiful pictures too! Do not hesitate to get this book! The price is a small one to pay on something that will last for many years and is so useful and fun! Get it and get started!

I was hesitant to purchase this book because of the price, but I’m so glad I did! It has so much information on the how and why of sourdough. The recipes are plentiful and varied, the pictures are beautiful, and the book itself is such high quality that I’m tempted to put it out on my coffee table, rather than on the shelf with my other cookbooks.
