A Better Dressing Than Anything in a Bottle …

The expense of prepared dressings coupled with the disposable plastic bottle waste convinced me to embrace homemade decades ago. This easy homemade vinaigrette can be enhanced with the addition of lemon juice, crushed garlic, or crumbled blue cheese. Or consider stirring a tablespoon of strawberry jam into it for a fruity twist.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup red or white wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in an airtight jar and shake until combined.
  • Use right away, or store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
